Comment: For the past few months, Kamal Randhawa, has been collecting new/gently used coats for the One Warm Coat Foundation. Im grateful that she donated approximately 60 coats to Blessings Closet at the El Sobrante United Methodist Church. Ron Stout is the manager and Ive assisted him in identifying local non-profit organizations to obtain a dozen coats for their program participants. So far, the Contra Costa Social Services Department and the Building Blocks for Kids Richmond Collaborative have expressed an interest in obtaining a dozen coats each. Weve reached out to a couple of other organizations and are waiting for their response. Without Kamals assistance, dedication and support many local residents would not have these coats as we begin to experience much colder weather.
