Comment: I inherited a stamp collection from my father in 2000 which I promptly forgot about for 23 years until I cleaned out my storage space. Since I know absolutely nothing about the stamp world, I was very glad to find Ron Umile. I experienced Ron as ethical, extremely knowledgeable, professional, accessible, and easily understandable.Ron suggested a hybrid payment approach of 92% cash and 8% consignment to maximize the collection value. I agreed, but on further reflection, I changed my mind and decided I wanted 100% cash. Ron was flexible and agreed to amend our agreement which he was under no obligation to do. He also bumped up the payment price a bit and offered to share the profits with me if the collection sold for more than his estimate. He, again, was under no obligation to make this offer because we had a 100% cash deal.If you are considering liquidating a stamp collection, you would be in very good hands doing business with Ron Umile of United States Stamp Company.

Ron Umile of US Stamps in Emeryville CA conducted and detailed appraisal for me at his store within about 30 minutes and offered a fair price for them. He is honest, highly responsive to questions, and seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of stamps (globally) and the stamp collecting business. His collections were in the Bay Area, and I lived on the East Coast but had an overseas move pending. I realised that I would not be able to maintain the collections once overseas. After my dad died, I took his 75 stamp albums to Rons office building, he helped me cart the albums upstairs and spent over 2 hours browsing through the albums while assessing their value. My Dad who had passed away several months before had amassed a large collection of stamps, coins, paper currency as well as knives, coca cola memorabilia and other assorted items. I honestly had no idea how to appraise or sell these thing. Ron and his team came in and over the course of 2 days categorized the entire collection. He advanced me 5K in a week and the collection itself took over 6 months for him to part out, but I got an additional whopping 17K when all was said and done. He even sent me a detailed list, line item by line item of all that sold including costs. Ron is extremely professional and trustworthy. If you need to sell you can trust your stuff here.

Comment: I was referred to this company by a neighbor who had known and respected the owner, Ron Umile, for many years. My husband had passed away recently and I wanted to liquidate his coin and stamp collections. I had almost no idea of their value. Mr. Umile spent two hours with me carefully going through everything and explaining things and answering my questions. At the end, he offered me an amount based on what he saw during those two hours and what he thought he could sell the collections for. As I said, I have no real idea of the value of the collections, but I trusted him when he told me I had nothing particularly rare. I believe that he was honest with me and thorough in his evaluation. He purchased from me several very heavy cardboard boxes full of albums and loose items. I think the price was fair because I know it will require a lot of hard labor to turn my things into a profit; hes welcome to them. I would definitely recommend Mr. Umile and his company to anyone in a situation similar to mine.

Comment: I recommend US Stamp & Coin Company for stamp collection sales. The market for stamp collection is in decline. I initially went to another dealer and that person sold the most easily marketable portion of my valuable stamp collection over a very long period of time (years). The original dealers annual sales eventually declined to zero. The original dealer then agreed to purchase the remaining portion of the collection from me as an alternative to consignment sale. I then recovered the remaining stamps and brought them to US Stamp and Coin for evaluation and consignment sale. I was told that the entire remaining portion of the collection could be sold within about a year and I was given an estimated value for the sale. The estimated value significantly exceeded the original dealers direct purchase offer. Now that the consignment sale with US Stamp and Coin Company has been completed within the estimated time, I can report that I am totally satisfied. Not only was the entire remaining collection sold, the price realized exceeded the original estimate provided my by US Stamp and Coin Company. Thank you Ron Umile! This was a job well done.

I inherited a voluminous stamp and coin collection from my grandfather, and I couldnt make heads or tails of it on my own. Ron was not only able to evaluate the collection, but they also helped me get eight heavy boxes from my car into their office. Ron took the time to explain what I had, and pointed out the different values in the catalogs. It was an education on coin and stamp collecting. I decided to go ahead and consign my collection with them. Bottom line, these guys are great. If you have stamps or coins that you need to sell, these are the guys to see.
