Comment: Happened to be in the Union Square area on a weekday and saw they carried Tudor and Rolex watches, so decided to drop on by. Was greeted by Rebeccah who did a fantastic job of taking care of me! She was very kind and patient as I was like a kid in a candy store trying on an assortment of watches from various brands. Initially I was there to take a look at Tudor to compare the sizing of the Black Bay 54/58, but then migrated to Jaeger LeCoultre and IWC since those caught my eye as well. Also made a stop at the Rolex counter and registered an interest in the Explorer line as the Explorer 1 and 2 had been on my list of grail watches that I would love to have and also pass down to my kids. Probably spent a good hour, hour and a half looking and chatting about watches.A little over a week later, I got a text asking if I was still interested in the Explorer 36 and if so, a request for availability can be made. I of course was, and to my shock, a few days later I got that magical text, saying one was available for me! The purchasing experience was lovely, was offered some coffee or water, and the watch was sized perfectly for my wrist. There is something very mesmerizing about a black dial Datejust with a smooth bezel. Its perfect for an everyday and can dress up. It was my first time getting a timepiece for a milestone achievement and I was greeted by Tiffany, who walked me through for getting the timepiece.Other places I inquired in were pretty snobby and did not follow up with me in regards to any updates. I basically had to check in to those dealers due to lack of communication and felt like I had to try to sell myself to get a timepiece. Tiffany welcomed me in that day and showed me various models and let me try on different pieces. She was extremely patient and knowledgeable and pleasantly showed me different models that I might be interested in. At the end of my visit, I had zeroed in on a specific watch that caught my eye which was, to no surprise, not immediately available and was in extremely high demand. A couple of days later Tiffany emailed me and let me know that she had created a profile for me and had added the watch to my list. As I continued to research my selection, my desire for a different model grew and when I asked that my selection be modified, she was extremely responsive and changed my preference immediately. Unexpectedly, not too long afterwards I got The Call. Overall, my experience was incredible. I felt like I couldn’t have worked with a better person for my purchase decision. Jason immediately was able to answer any questions that I had regarding the specific model I wanted and I felt that I was working with a true watch person the whole time and his knowledge of SF was meaningful on a personable level. It was nice to feel like my concerns were heard and he helped me navigate my decision making process. The Shreve store was well lit, clean and had a very friendly atmosphere (dogs allowed!), and at no point did I feel like I wasn’t being welcomed as a new customer with no past buying experience. It’s amazing how nice the purchase is experience was versus feeling concerned that it would be highly transactional or pressured to make a decision as a new client (overseas shopping comes to mind). I didn’t take much time to pinpoint the exact model and fortunately your team had the specific BB58 on a steel bracelet in stock. The nicest part of the experience was the lounge in the back to have the watched perfectly sized to my wrist, what a joy to experience that high of a level of service! I’ve purchased some items in the past (my car comes to mind) and nothing quite compares to feeling like you’re welcome to hang out and chat watches or about San Francisco, so that’s a very nice touch by Shreve & Jason!Ultimately, I felt like I was in good hands with Jason, and his vintage Pepsi GMT was a strong signifier that I was working with the right (watch) person. These are very personal purchases and when an Apple Watch can gladly do much more than tell time, I felt like I had made an investment in myself for my upcoming wedding day, and had bought something that I could leave to my immediate family when the watch survives a very long life.

Recently I was in the market for a new watch, and after years of walking by (and recalling they had once made silverware), I stopped by Shreve & Co to look through the selection and get some advice on a timepiece that would suit me. As far as watches, the store caters a variety of well-known brands for a range of prices, and I found the employees warmly welcoming and unpretentious. Nina and Erik in particular were knowledgeable about horology and most patient in helping me pick out a dress watch to suit my budget. Unfortunately the watch I wanted was on back order and the wait could be 13 months. Nina put me on the list but I was not optimistic. A week later she had the watch. I raced back to SF as fast as I could, Nina greeted me at the front door and took me to the vault to show me the watch. She removed the stickers and had it sized for me. She also offered me some delicious scotch which calmed my nerves about buying such a beautiful watch. Later she showed me some nice gifts for my wife. Of all the places I have bought watches (which is many), Shreve is by far and away the absolute best because of Nina and Jeff who work there - its the most well run store I have ever been in.Every time I visit Shreve its a real pleasure: I am greeted and asked how I am doing, offered champagne and chocolates - its an environment welcoming to anyone regardless of what they look like or how they act - an example of great leadership by management, specifically Jeff. Nina and Jeff arent the only awesome folks who work at Shreve though, the whole store is amazing including Allison, Justin and Fabien to name a few.Shreve is special not only because of their amazing customer service, unparalleled by any other store Ive bought from which includes Cartier, AP, Patek and others, but because of the unique and special events they host for their customers. Ive had the pleasure of attending a few of these events (photos attached), that included a Warriors game at Shreves box, a watch making class by JLC and various cocktail events to unveil new watches, and last but not least, I was able to work with Shreves in-house watch engraver to add a custom engraving to one of the watches I purchased, he allowed me to go down and watch the engraving process which was completed within a few minutes - so cool (a service which takes months at Cartier).To be a customer at Shreve is not like anywhere else, its like being a part of a family. If you buy from Shreve, youre supported throughout the life of your watch, if anything goes wrong (which is bound to happen), they will take care of you - something not many places do anymore, but they will also invite you to events, offer you gifts and treat you like you should be, and more.I would not consider buying a watch from anywhere but Shreve & Co. They have a loyal customer in me and always will due in no small part to Jeff, Nina and the Shreve & Co owners.
