Comment: I highly recommend Captain Dean Ford of Frank K Wyatt Marine Surveyor! He has been with us from the beginning and always very helpful. He surveyed a few other yachts that did not end up with a closing, but we finally found one. He is extremely thorough and honest. He sent us his results in a timely manner and also served as Captain taking the yacht from Long Beach, CA to San Diego, CA. We have had to contact him since docking and he is always willing to talk with us. I dont personally know any other surveyors, but in my opinion he was very, knowledgeable, professional and a great Captain too. We plan to continue our relationship with him.

Comment: I have to share the wonderful experience that I had working with Dean for the purchase of our sailboat. He was our surveyor at the recommendation of our yacht broker. The experience could not have been better. The boat had undergone a survey less than a year ago but we still thought it was prudent to have one completed before our purchase. I am so happy that we did. The two surveys told much different stories. Deans was thorough.So thorough. No part of the boat was left un-inspected. Problems, pretty significant ones, were identified by Dean that simply were not identified by the previous surveyor. And these were long term troubles that were overlooked in the previous survey.Plus as a novice sailor, he welcomed my questions and was a wonderful teacher. I walked away knowing, as he put it, the good, the bad and the ugly. And most importantly I had a punch list of what needed to be NOW, later and when I hit lotto.Buying a boat is a scary venture but when you have a true and passionate professional like Dean to guide you, you walk away with certainty. If you are buying a boat, no matter the size, year or reputation you MUST do these two things:1. Get a professional survey! A book, YouTube videos, or a buddy that knows a lot about boats, is not a substitute.2: Make sure that your surveyor is DEAN. All surveyors and surveys are not equal. Hire the best. The fee for the survey saved us five times what we paid for it.Hope this helps the boating world. We need more people like Dean keeping us safe and spreading unbiased truth about a boats condition.
