Very patient, honest, and genuinely listened to what we were looking for. He was so helpful that I went back 5 days later to purchase the ring and wanted to be sure I was buying from him. When I walked in I was nervous because my fiancé and I have very little knowledge about rings, costs, styles etc. Cole made the process so easy that within 15 minutes we had picked out my ring and band, paid and had a pick up date for my dream ring. Cole was nothing but patient and comforting in deciding which ring was the best for me. He also was able to find me the best ring within the budget we said we would like to stick to. The best part about working with Cole is that he was NOT PUSHY AT ALL. His lax approach towards working with us is what made us eager to purchase the ring that day. P.S. She found a few settings and center stones that she liked and Edmond took notes.When I came back, I was extremely nervous, mainly because I wanted to pick out the perfect ring for the engagement. Edmond was there and showed me multiple options and I decided to go with the ring and center stone my fiancé had picked out.When I got the ring, the center stone was a bit smaller than I anticipated. It’s a little hard to picture what the final product will look like until it’s in your hands. I let Edmond know and we discussed multiple alternatives within budget. In the end, Edmond steered me toward a very nice VVS center stone. I think he sensed my stress of wanting to propose ASAP, so he performed a miracle by getting the stone swapped out in one day so that I could still propose when I planned to.I picked up the ring and Edmond was there again. I told him I was about to propose and he was genuinely excited for me. As a bonus, he threw in a pearl necklace. I’m not sure how much better service you can get, but I will only be buying jewelry from here for life.When I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife, she was literally in shock. They were super friendly and treated us like family while we were there. I sadly lost both my engagement ring and wedding band which I had had for over 17 years. Prior to heading into David and Sons, I had gone to a few other places and the experiences were night and day. Edmond was so patient and understanding of my situation...never pushy and wanted to make sure that I found something that I would love. With his help, I chose my engagement ring almost immediately. The wedding band was tougher as I wanted something that paired nicely with the engagement ring but was also beautiful all on its own. Edmond showed me a few options and all were stunning. When I decided which one I wanted I thought it would be a few days before I could actually take them both home since the wedding band needed to be resized. I had done a lot of research online prior to going into my first jeweler, but still learned a ton in speaking with him. Thinking that this had to be outside of my budget based on what I had seen at other jewelers, I was unbelievably happy and surprised when they gave me the price. Not once did they try to up-sell me, and that is something that I feel is rare in this industry. Comment: A diamond ring for your loved one is a lifetime purchase. Buying diamonds requires a consumer to do their research. Their are many wolves in sheeps clothing in the diamond industry. Retail stores like Zales, Ben Bridge, and Kay Jewelers charge 40% or more markup on diamonds that are not worth what they are selling it for. These stores have deals to take back your ring you bought from them and get equal value as long as you purchase a more expensive ring. They have the liberty giving back the value because of the markup that was charged from the first purchase. Most diamond stores make money off the consumer not doing their research. Through research, I also learned that Tiffany charges top dollar for their price because they will take the diamond back for exchange if the customer is not satisfied. A Tiffany diamond is not a special certification and diamonds are diamonds. Not bashing these business and you dont have to believe this review, do your own research.Usually husband walks in the store with wife, and based on budget, will look at the rings the sales person identifies based on price. The lights in the store purposely make all the diamonds shine. Wife sees ring, falls in love, then the husband blindly buys the diamond ring with no real understanding of the 4 Cs (Cut, Clarity, Carat, and Color). Husband and wife leave store with ring and while driving in car realize that the diamond doesnt allow light to pass through and has a dingy dirty dull color.Google is your best friend and it is incumbent upon the consumer to do research. That is what I did, and it drove me to contact David & Sons. I met Emil and his staff informing them of my research, which I identified numerous websites educating me on how to buy a round diamond with the 4Cs. Not only did I learn about the 4Cs through research, I also learned that a round diamond should have 53-58% table, 59-62.3% depth, Pavillion 43%, excellent polish, excellent symmetry, and no fluorescent is important for a quality round diamond.Emil from David and Sons appreciated my research and I also discussed with him the online websites of Blue Nile and James Allen. Emil was patient and worked with me over the phone and store to research with me to find the best diamond to meet my needs.Another research note is to find a personal jeweler you trust when you decide to buy diamonds. I had gone to Kay Jewelers, and previously purchased items from there, but nothing really high priced. Just nice stuff from Jane Seymours collection. My wife and I decided to upgrade the wedding/engagement rings to something a little more than what we married with. Dont get me wrong, we both know what we married with is very true and significant to us both, but she wanted a traditional diamond (we married with a very unique black diamond set with skulls, so a traditional set was due). Anyway, we looked at Kay, but I wanted to educate myself with diamond grading and certification. I wanted to see what a jeweler that was NOT a common mall pop-up (like Kay, Daniels Zales, JC Pennys, Macys, etc) would be like. D&S was intimidating to look at from the outside, but when we went in, we were greeted by Emil Elghanian, and he made us feel very comfortable and welcomed, and did NOT pressure us; he simply told us to look around, and that he would check back if we had questions. We were able to look around without ANYONE hassling us. Finally Emil came to us and we told him our wants/issues and he was VERY helpful with suggestions and I guess I asked the right questions, said the right things bec he was impressed that I actually did a little homework with my very limited diamond knowledge. He further expanded my knowledge by telling us more about diamond certifications and he asked what we could work with, etc. and was very non-judgmental, very understanding, and very courteous... not a hint of arrogance, high pressure, or dismissal at all from Emil. Comment: Over the years my wife and I have bought many items from Edmond and his brother Emil.We have never been disappointed.we used to go to the store down in Bonita Plaza. But that is no more. My daughters boyfriend purchased a ring for her the other day, and she dropped it off to be sized. She asked me to go pick it up for her. Of course it was around 430 on a Friday afternoon. Thank God for Google maps. I came into the store and asked Edmond for the ring and ask him how much it was for the sizing. He told me it was no charge. He always comes through like that. Comment: Best shopping experience I have ever had buying anything. For me, like most guys, starting to look for an engagement ring became a daunting task. I had never even heard of things like the clarity and color of diamonds. I just always assumed all diamonds were sparkly. I had found a ring from an online company that I was pretty set on buying, but I ended up taking a recommendation from a friend to check out David and Sons. I am so glad I did. As soon as I walked in with my now fiance we were greeted with welcoming smiles. Edmond ended up being the one that helped us. He took his time to explain everything about diamonds to me and I never once felt any pressure to buy from them. He wrote down and took pictures of everything that my now fiance liked and kept it in a folder. When we left I knew I wanted to buy from them just because of their outstanding customer service, but I still felt like an online company would be so much cheaper. A few weeks later I decided to go back in and look at pricing. I am so happy I did that. Edmond asked what my price range was and then showed me my options for diamonds. He showed me a diamond that was a little out of my price range and without me even asking he offered to lower the price so I could buy it. A long story short I can not say enough about the amazing customer service at David and Sons. They are very knowledgeable with jewelry and will never pressure you into anything. With the purchase of an engagement ring I was given TWO pearl necklaces for free.(Legitimately gorgeous pearl necklaces) They also furnish you with a Gemological Institute of America analysis of the stone and an appraisal form for insurance purposes. The ring fittings are quoted at being 3-5 business days, but my fiances ring was resized in about 4 hours. Very unique, extremely well crafted jewelry. (Not even allowed to take pictures in the store so you know the ring you buy is one of a kind). Staff was very nice and helpful as well. I have bought jewelry at other places (Kay, Zales, Harrie Richie etc.) and comparing them to this place is like comparing a Mazda to a Maserati. You wont find cookie cutter, bulky/gaudy, cheap jewelry here, but if you are able to afford their finer selection it is beyond worth it.

Edmund quickly set my fiancé and I at ease by finding out what we were interested in first, rather than interrogating for a budget as every other jewelry retailer had done. He took copious notes of our ring interests and stored them with just a name and no other contact information; “I know you’ll be back,” he said. And right he was. The quality of the work is on another level compared to the mass-produced products at other jewelers, or even other custom jewelers. After parading through too many other jewelers to count, we knew we had to return to David & Sons. We wanted a unique design and Edmund was able to provide everything exactly to our specifications with a rare design, and even rarer stone. David & Sons was able to beat the prices quoted for off-the-shelf jewelry by mass retailers (such as Kay) by a large margin, and with a superior custom product! We love our rings, and they have taken good care of them for us.Dont be fooled - David and Sons is located in a shopping mall, but they are not a typically mall jewelry store. Visit one of the national chain jewelry stores before you visit D&S, and you will be amazed at the difference. No high pressure sales, no phony compliments (you look like such a perfect couple, this ring is meant for you, etc.), and most importantly great jewelry. The diamonds are AGI or EGL certified, not the IGI stuff youll find in a chain store. Do some research on the IGI before you step foot into a chain jewelry store. Angela helped me pick a top quality, best value diamond band that my mom cherishes everyday. Comment: I couldnt have planned a better experience buying an engagement ring at David and Sons. Every guy experiences the classic sweaty palms and shortness of breath walking through jeweler the door, but that soon left as Sabastian took care of everything. He explained the entire process super clear/understandable about the diamond, setting, purchasing, financing, insuring, etc. for novices in the ring buying department. I ended up buying the perfect ring for my fiance and she couldnt have been happier.I really liked this place because their family owned and operated and all the diamonds and settings are personally designed and shaped by their jeweler for like 30 years.The price was unbeatable and they have everything including the certificate for the diamond, the appraisal, financing available, and an entire cleaning kit for you, except you wont need the cleaning kit cause you can bring the ring in at anytime to get cleaned for free. The setting is under warranty for life, so if something happens theyll fix it no problem and in a few months Ill be getting a wedding band to match the engagement ring.It was an excellent experience!

Comment: I feel compelled to let anybody who is shopping for fine jewelry in the San Diego area know about the great experience I had at David and Sons. The bottom line up front is that you are not going to find a more dedicated, experienced and PROFESSIONAL group of jewelers in the area, period.Allow me to go into detail:I started my search for an engagement ring for my current fiance about 8 months ago. While I had decided that I wanted to keep the fact that I was seriously searching a surprise from her, I still wanted to get her direct input on what made a ring really sparkle for her; hence, we started dropping in to some local jewelry stores here and there whenever we it happened to be convenient.We hit up some of the large corporate stores - and, while there were some decent products on display in some of these stores, nothing really stood out to either of us. I really wanted to zero in on something truly unique as opposed to a more standard ring.With this in mind, we hit up some of the custom stores. Believe me guys out there, if you are thinking of popping the question and are willing to put the time, effort and perhaps a little bit more money into the ring, you will be happy should you take this route.Eventually, my personal focus turned to either David and Sons, or another custom jewelry store in the area. I have to honestly say that this competitor (no need to name the company), while showcasing some excellent jewelry, had an owner that really tried to play hardball with me in terms of pushing a sale. That was the end of that quandary as I - like many of you -dislike being pushed about an important decision, and I never encountered anything like this attitude from the salespeople at David and Sons!I worked with Sebastian from the conception of how the ring was going to work even beyond the delivery of the finished ring, to getting the fitting of it fine-tuned to my fiances ring finger. Sebastian made it fun and easy to get involved in the schematics of building the ring. Not being an experienced jeweler myself, some of the ideas I brought to the table were less than feasible; Sebastian had no problem outlining why some ideas would not work, but he never pushed me into a specific direction with regards to the overall design. In fact, when we finally drew up the details that would encompass the ring, I got a genuine sense that he and the others at David and Sons were really excited to work on this ring!The process for creating my fiances ring was not an overnight one, but it was worth it as my fiance is floored with how the ring looks and so am I. I am sold in terms of bringing all of my future personal jewelry business to David and Sons as I am positive that no where else in the region will I get a better experience and quality-level than at their facilities. We just got engaged about two weeks ago but already we are sure that well be hitting Sebastian up for the wedding band in the future as our plans advance towards the big day. Hats off to him and all the hard working folks over at David and Sons for knocking this one out of the park for us!- Mike

Comment: We visited many different places before ending up and David & Sons for the engagement ring. They have a huge selection of many different styles. There was also a custom design element in mind. After hearing the idea, Sebastian instantly knew how to make it look great and to make sure the idea didnt come out badly. I had a fairly tight deadline for a custom creation.They hit the mark and the rings are absolutely stunning. My fiance receives compliments all of the time. It is truly her ring as well. We had a hiccup a month in and they took care of it right away. Emil, Sebastian and the rest of the team at David & Sons are fantastic and so is their final product.

Comment: I went to David and Sons to purchase my wifes engagement ring a couple of years ago based on a recommendation from a friend. Was I glad I did! Emil was extremely helpful, and understood my budget. He sat down with me and we went through many diamonds, explaining to me the differences in the cut and clarity, etc. He was patient with me and I finally decided on a great diamond for my wife. The stone was amazing and at great price. He was happy to compare the same type of diamond on any other dealers website to show what a great deal I was getting. He never made me feel rushed and is always happy to see us when my wife comes in to drop off the ring for free cleanings.

I once again saw Angela who remembered me and the last time I was in and worked with me to find the perfect ring for my wife.
