Comment: This is an excellent company!I dont normally write reviews, but I had a fantastic set of experiences with this company and decided to write one. I had never done an online auction and got on one day to bid during a live auction. My items were coming up and I figured out I was not set up to bid and I frantically contacted the company and the owner, Don, immediately emailed me back and set me up. So I bid on my items and won some, paid for my items (which happened quickly and easily) and then realized I had no plan to get them home (large items). So I recontacted Don and asked for help picking a shipper. He was again very helpful. I ended up being in contact with several shippers (I chose the UPS store 2778 in Montebello, Byron Chan. He has packing videos posted on youtube and is also fantastic to work with!) because the items I was trying to ship were large and the cost of shipping was very high. Ultimately I recontacted Don and he helped me figure out a solution. He really did not need to do all the things he did for a (clueless) customer like that, but he did! How frequently does that happen anymore?? Anyway, this is a great company and I highly recommend them!

Comment: New to the auction house world, I received a tip that Abell Auctions was auctioning Penny Marshalls Estate items - I signed up to bid and won 2 large bookcases - Yikes! how the hell was I going to get two large bookcases from Commerce ?? Abell Auction made the process easy and worry free - they connected me with a shipping company and I was able to arrange delivery of the bookcases to Santa Maria with no problem. I also purchases a set of cast iron candy trays and went up to the showroom to pick them up - easy to find and all the employees were super helpful and kind - its a very cool warehouse- you can feel the history of the business around you when you step into the office - I was very happy with the entire experience - I will continue to watch Abells auction page and bid with confidence - they store all the items really well and its very easy to either pick up your stuff or have it shipped - its not inexpensive - but well worth the price - highly recommend this business

Comment: Everything went great with my very recent purchase of a Bose 3000 CD sound system, smooth transaction and pick up. I have bought various art and antiques at Abells at least since when I bought my first Mercedes there (a 1969 280S see photo) in 1989 (estate of original owner in Bel Air) when they were located on West Adams, which I mention so that people can follow them and buy with confidence in general and also keep an eye out because I believe their live auctions will return and they are a lot of fun - you may go to bid on one thing and end up discovering something else. Everyone is very nice and it is fun to be in contact with people who are the grandchildren of the people I dealt with back in the day.

Comment: My wife, Donna Pescow and I have been using Abell Auctions for probably over 30 years and at least 3 moves: when we consolidated our belongings before getting married; when we moved to a very large house; and when we downsized. Weve worked with several people there including Barry Abell, a kid I grew up with in Westwood, his father Robert and now Don Schireson. They are consistently professional, knowledgeable, efficient, thorough and perhaps most importantly, generate profitable results. The items get fair + value, and we are constantly pleasantly surprised. And, maybe even best of all, nothing comes back. That ought to be the Company Tagline.

Comment: When our Mom passed away last year, my Brother and Myself were left with the task of Distributing our Parents possessions, and of course 97 years of living left us with a Household of Goods that neither of us wanted, or needed! But we did some research, and we chose Abel, and we made a great choice. Joe Baratta took us under his wing, arranged the pickup, created the item list, and when the Auctions were over we had enough money to put back into the house to keep it looking fresh! This is how a Business should run. From the Shields Brothers, Joe, we thank you and Abel Auction again for helping us. Anyone considering this Auction House will not be displeased!

Comment: I was 3000 miles away from a houseful of furniture and memories in storage in Los Angeles. Don Schireson, CEO of Abell Auctions, both personally and professionally, went above and beyond what any other company would have done. They not only coordinated the move of everything from storage to their facility in the City of Commerce, but also shipped my boxes of precious family photos, memories, and documents to me in Connecticut. Abell Auctions did an incredible job of auctioning the furniture and other estate items in a timely and efficient manner, and sent a check to me straight away. Don was comforting, professional and completely reassuring that my familys estate was in good hands, particularly as I was not on-site to oversee the situation. Whole- hearted thanks to Don and his team at Abell Auctions for taking such good care of my familys estate on my behalf - and in turn, taking such good care of me. Dons integrity and work ethic astounded me. I am forever grateful. Anyone out there who is interviewing auction houses, the search stops with Abell Auctions. Comment: An EXCEPTIONAL experience!! Abell / Don S provided extraordinary service from start to finish during an extremely difficult time. I live out of state and was in LA with limited time to settle a family estate. Don & his crew rescued me with professionalism, kindness & efficiency. All appointments were kept to the minute (quite a feat considering traffic) and all questions/communications were addressed promptly & fully. Most importantly, Dons crew left an entirely empty space, packing all items quickly & carefully. I now understand why our family has repeatedly used Abells over the decades. Thank you Don! I will always be grateful .
